If y'all like gumbo, come on down to Galveston on September 24-26 for the 1st Annual Galveston Island Wild Texas Shrimp Fest. Among other activities, there will be a Gumbo Stroll on Saturday, September 25 at noon where you can buy a cup of gumbo prepared by local restaurants. Also, there will be a Texas wine sampling at the same time. Texas gumbo...Texas wine...mmm mmm good! |

kudos:3 | Just to update (I'm probably talking to myself), but the gumbo was a bust. I didn't get there until after one o'clock and just about all the gumbo was gone. There was one gumbo option, but you had to have your own bowl. If you didn't have a bowl, they would gladly sell you one for $5. I declined the offer. |
