[TWC] Motorola SBG6580 - Bridge mode

Is it possible to get the SBG6580 into bridge mode so I can use my own router? I just called Support and was transfered to Tier 3 and was told that they can't do that and all I need to do is turn off the wireless and NAT that would allow me to use my own router. Any truth to that or did I just happen to get in touch with a lazy tech.

PROTECT YOUR NETWORK - CHANGE THE DEFAULT PASSWORDS!
Default passwords are commonly shared on the Internet. Protect your information and your network from unauthorized access; change the modem’s default passwords BEFORE connecting to the Internet.
Use an Ethernet connection to change the passwords. NEVER configure your modem over a wireless network connection.
1.
Open a browser window.
2.
Type in the IP address for the modem 192.168.0.1.
3.
Type in the default Username; admin.
4.
Type in the default Password; motorola.

I know how to login, as I got the username and password from the tech that did the install. The PDF you linked doesn't seem to make any mention of bridge mode or using it strictly as a modem only.

Click on Basic tab

Primary Mode

NAPT mode

Disabled

Changes may require a reboot to take effect.

When you disable the NAPT it will go to Bridge mode !
