| Reco on car interior fabrication I need a recommendation on someone in southwest Ohio (Cin-Day) who is really good at car interiors, including fabrication. I have a family member who needs a front passenger seat in a high-end minivan modified to allow for 3 extra inches of rearward travel. It would take not only some metal fabrication but also knowledge of how all the trim panels and ducting on the seat go together.

My experience with them, they could not do what I wanted done and explained why. If it can be done they should know how or be able to direct you in the right direction.

| We've already been through them for some other mods. They won't do anything that they feel requires an engineer to sign off on it for "liability purposes." They will only install pre-engineered equipment from 3rd-party suppliers.
Actually what they did was very good...they just couldn't take care of the seat.

kudos:1 | Which body shops do custom fabrication ? I think most generally just do remove and replace damaged parts, but certainly some do more extensive or customized stuff. I've seen non-stock stuff over at Carl's. Have you checked with them or asked them for recommendations ? I'd be more tempted to go in person vs calling though...
I saw an episode of West Coast Customs where they built a car for Shaquille O'Neal and moved the seat mounts back just like you want. So, it is possible.  |
