I did the same. I bought one because of the "no contract" and for use as a backup to my cable.

Yes, it was a pain to setup ...but I was able to do it myself. The wizard is no fun, but the main problem I was having was that when the Mifi went to reset after entering all the info, my laptop would automatically connect back to my wireless cable service. I had to disable that temporarily untilt he Mifi successfully reset and was running. After those hiccups, I could jump back and forth to either service without a problem.

The speed, right now, sucks! I had better speed with my Sprint phone nearly 2 yrs ago. They have to fix that, and I"m hoping they will.

I will be keeping it...since again, like you, it is not my primary internet connection, but merely a backup.

Let's hope they improve the speeds
