after reading the article, it somewhat makes sense...the Caps have to pay him anyway, so the Panthers "rent" him (for an undisclosed amount)...he Nylander gets exposure, and someone shows interest (trade, etc), the Caps can get rid of him, and his salary. -- Only when the last tree is cut, only when the last river is polluted, only when the last fish is caught, will they realise that you can't eat money - Native American proverb
yea, Schenn got 19 minutes in penalties for fighting Abdelkader last night...5 for fighting, 10 minute game misconduct, 2 for instigation and 2 for unsportsmanlike conduct...Abdulkader game him a hip check and Schenn didn't like it...it didn't look "low", but perhaps Schenn thought he was hitting him low.

Hehe, if there's one man to chicken out on, it's Boogaard...
Wendel Clark wouldn't have...and Boogaard would have the bloody face to prove it. -- Only when the last tree is cut, only when the last river is polluted, only when the last fish is caught, will they realise that you can't eat money - Native American proverb
He should have done something instead of just yakking.........that was a dirty spear.
Why? The penalty had been called, so why would Carkner want give a chance for an 'even up' call instead of going on the power play? If Boogaard hadn't been tossed from the game, I'm pretty sure Carkner would have had it out with him later on, but he made the smart play and kept his mitts on.
Are you saying he should have dropped the gloves? Funny, Rypien never did and he's had what, three seasons to do so? -- The thoughts expressed in the above post are those of the poster, and can only be attributed to his state of mind at the time of posting. Join Team Helix
Re: [Hockey] Official~ NHL thread...........scores and highlites
that is certainly not characteristic of him...what was he so pissed off about??...i liked Niederreiter during the WJC last year...i don't recall him being "cheap" or "dirty". -- Only when the last tree is cut, only when the last river is polluted, only when the last fish is caught, will they realise that you can't eat money - Native American proverb
Canes beat the Wild in Helsinki for the first game of the N.H.L. season.
Brandon Sutter looks like he's beefed up ,got 2 goals and could be a ringer pick for the hockey pools..........I've picked him. -- ~~Get our troops home...now!!~~
Some people were saying it was the best first career goal ever...
They have short memories.
Bozak's was just as good. But wasn't even mentioned on TSN this morning. Why not? Oh yeah, he's not a Canadian WJC hero who's only 20 and proves the draft is the only way theory. Also, Pierre Maguire.
TSN said Lemieux's first was just as good as Eberle's. They showed it, and while it was a nice move, doesn't compare to just how pretty Eberle and Bozak's toedrags were. Eberle might have an edge because it was short handed.
I'm telling you, that Oilers game last night was something else. It wasn't just Eberle. Hall and Pajaarvi were magnificent as well. They ran circles around the Flames and dictated the play all night.

The scrap near the end of the game is being talked about a lot today also:
I like Chara and all but the guy is already 33 and will be 40/41 when this expires.. I can not see him not losing a step midway through this contract and 6+ million a year is alot to lose in cap space
