Re: [Hockey] Official~ NHL thread...........scores and highlitessaid by loosedobbs:Who is next one to go? The Columbus Blue Jackets have relieved general manager Scott Howson of his duties. The timing of this one I do not get, it's not like Columbus is sucking on toast so far this season. If Howson was to be let go I would have done it after last season. Then again the ownership of Columbus makes the Ballard era Maple Leafs look good so I dunno... NefCanuck |

from TSN.ca COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Columbus Blue Jackets hurried to make history.
Just more than 24 hours after firing Scott Howson, they announced the hiring of Jarmo Kekalainen of Finland as the first European to be a general manager in the National Hockey League. |

Well, its probably right because i doubt no white hockey player would do that, referring to that picture he tweeted of himself holding huge wads of cash like he was some gangsta... He portrayed himself into a stereotype, and got the criticism he deserved IMO. |

I guess Patrick Kane's escapades is indicative of the cheap white trash stereotype in that he cannot pay his cab fare. |

I still want a horizontal alignment. That way, travel is spread out evenly amongst all teams instead of just penalizing the western ones. » Re: [NHL] Proposed NHL Re-alignmentPlus, it would be unique. |

I don't like it. What do Tampa and Florida have do to with TOR/MTL/OTT/BOS/BUF? Nothing, other than they share the same time zone. It also involves going past 7 other teams to get down to the other two. Tampa enjoys quite a bit of success when getting teams on the 2nd night of a back-to-back Florida tour, and doing that regularly isn't something I'm interested in watching.
Here's my radical change: OTT/MTL/TOR/BUF/BOS/NYI/NYR
It'll cost the NJD some tickets, but from what I've heard from Devils fans, Rangers fans who go to the Prudential Centre aren't exactly the kind of visiting fans you want in your building (read: they are bungholes). It'll add BOS-NYC rivalry for both NY teams, it'll keep travel more centralized, and it'll put the southern teams all in the same division. I know the NHL will never go for it, but it's what, as a fan, I'd prefer to see. If not, how about Detroit and Columbus instead? |

Wild game in Tamba Bay. Caps win 4-3.
That 4th goal by the games is questionable IMHO....the whistle should have been blown, but my good friend Michael in Silver Spring, Maryland will be happy with the Caps win.... |

»Re: [NHL] Proposed NHL Re-alignment
Plus, it would be unique. Good idea but it may wreck havoc on tv viewing... Say if Leafs and Canucks were in the same conference... Would Leaf fans appreciate a weekday game in Vancouver when it would be a 10:30pm game start (Ontario time).... OR when Canucks played in TO, it would be a super time game start for folks in BC... TV scheduling is more in line with North-South alignment then East-West.... |

Move the two Florida teams into Conference D, and the two New York teams to Conference C.
Yes, the Devils would be across the river from a team in a different conference, but who cares. |

Yes, the Devils would be across the river from a team in a different conference, but who cares. Yeah, that's what I was suggesting upthread. The Devils would still have PHI/PIT who they already have rivalries with. |
