I'm not confident from what you wrote that duplicate IP's is the problem, but generally speaking devices that don't move or change should have a static IP (like your NAS) and others like laptops and phones should be DHCP.

Ensure that the static IP you give your NAS is outside of the DHCP range assigned by the router.

Also, you probably need to update the firmware on your N1
