[NH] New Hamsphire Broadband Mapping Program

This is a State initiative to map Internet access speed by provider and technology in a highly granular level throughout the state. It is designed to find un-served and undeserved areas of the state. This complements the work being done by the FCC to get a better handle on nationwide broadband deployment.

The main website is: »iwantbroadbandnh.org/ On the home page you can do a speed test and provide your address to assist with the mapping project. Speed test works even on dialup so folks without access to broadband are encouraged to do the test.

If you want to meet face to face they are holding meetings throughout the state over the next couple of months. I attended the one here in Milford on Tuesday. Only a few people showed up so I think they need to do a better job getting the word out. »iwantbroadbandnh.org/?q=community_forums

Combined with new deployment of a statewide backbone network »www.nashuatelegraph.com/news/sta···-nh.html this should help to expand broadband access within the state and improve speed over time.

Looks good T, I passed along some info to »www.opencape.com/
Perhaps they could use a similar model to map speeds here.
That being said, I expect Fios when the Sun turns to charcoal.
