| Switching from Elink DSL to Cable? I've given up hope there is any real fix for my Elink DSL going down nearly every time a rain storm comes through. Supposed to get Cable installed today by TimeWarner, supposedly keep all my mindspring accounts the same. Seems too like all tech and billing now go through TW rather than someone in India. That is definitely a bonus.
I notice this forum has low traffic. Are all there any techs here, or are they all on the TimeWarner/RR support forums?
Any caveats I need to be aware of?

Webster, NY | I agree. Get the 6 month promo. The only difference between Roadrunner and Earthlink cable is the lack of the Powerboost. But that isn't a big deal as far as I am concerned. |

Thanks, I got the 6 mo promo rate. After that it's only $2 more than what I'm spending on DSL now. Install seemed smooth yesterday. Had a little trouble with my old router, but I had another to use. Speed is a lot better than DSL, streaming netflix is smoother. Seems to lag every now and then loading some web pages, not sure if that's something on my end or not.
Poor install guy was here nearly 2.5 hours. He had to run a line from the top of the pole at the street. Haven't had a cable coming into my house for nearly 15 years. Supposedly a crew will be here later next week to bury the cable.
