Re: Fios Internet/Phone Install question...phone jacks?

No, what it means is they disconnect the old copper phone box that is on the side of your house, and route the copper lines coming from inside, to the new Fios ONT box. Nothing is changed with your phone lines inside. It's a bit confusing but inside your home the original copper phone and coax lines are still used (and ethernet if thats how they hooked up your router to the ONT).

This also means you can't ever go back to copper for your phones, as they disconnect and possibly remove the copper phone lines going to your house.

Thanks guys...

Glad to hear it to (this is an old house and would be a major hassle if this were the case)

Currently we have Verizon DSL which just hooks into the Westell Modem from the phone line in the upstairs room where the PC is. ARE they going to have to install a ethernet jack (does this entail running a seperate line from the ONT to the upstairs room where the computer is?)

Again sorry for the ignorance

They are going to need to get a coax line to wherever you wish to have the router placed. It could be split off from another room or ran directly from the main splitter. Coax is the primary install now not ethernet.
