Re: mp3 players with dozens and dozens of GB of space? IMHO, I wouldn't buy a hard drive based player at this point. Hard drives are suseptable to shock and have a limited lifetime.
If you want to have lots of music storage, get a player that uses flash cards. Cowon is the best quality when it comes to this. iRiver and Sandisk and even Creative also have players that accept flash cards.
