Haven't even watched Avatar and Star Trek yet and I love Sci-fi.
Might watch it sometime this winter. They won't spoil like produce Or any thing.
Maybe added scenes that were deleted for the big screen....more value.
Know a few people who has to see the movie before everyone else.
I don't get it
It's only a movie.

| I never understood the reasoning behind having to see it opening day. My friends would annoy me that "Oh, you didn't see it???" Um, it just came out.
Anyway, I did see Avatar in 3D (Imax) and have to admit, it was amazing. But I saw it 3 weeks before it was pulled (still drew a crowd).
Good things come to those that wait. Netflix paid for itself in the savings over buying media (how many DVDs I bought that now, are streamed and valueless)... | |

All they've served to do is separate more of my cinema money for an experience that ranges from eyestrain (Alice in Wonderland) to "meh, I didn't notice" (Avatar). The theaters in my area have started to only show 3D films, so the cheaper option is no longer available.
And they wonder why we're going to the movies less and less. $15 now for unnecessary 3D, then refreshments? God damn. | |

I tried them all for a while (kind of had to) and finally just got fed up. The 3D effect at best was gimmicky (Avatar), or done horribly wrong (Alice in Wonderland). Having to pay an additional 50% of ticket fees for features that're yawn-worthy at best is pretty unnecessary. | |

Avatar in Imax 3D was the best movie experience I've had this century. it was the first time in almost twenty years that I've seen a movie more than twice at the theater. I saw it once in real 3D, which was really good, but then I saw it four times in Imax 3D which blew away what I saw in the Real3d theater.
We even saw people duck at each showing as it seemed like something was going to fly out of the screen and hit them. | |

While the clarity was improved some, I never really felt "immersion" or anything fantastic. Just a tolerable experience with a few perspective gags for laughs.
Of course, either:
A.) the theatre showing this is one of those IMAX 3D on-the cheap (there's no set standard for the IMAX experience)
B.) my eyes just really suck | |

Only 3 of the top 60 movies in 2007 and 2008 are on Netflix streaming. That 3 total out of 120. Sad sad. What happen to more movies being on netflix streaming because of all these deals? | |

I just reupped with Netflix after about a 1 yr absence to see if things changed with all these deals being signed. Doesn't seem like much has changed at all. Plus almost half of my movies that were in my instant queue, are now NO LONGER available for streaming. So yea, there's a lot of new streaming content, but it's OLDER content that tends to not include the top ones. BUT, at the same time they are adding all this content, they are REMOVING other previously streamable content.
What frustrates me is they have all these great DVD's to choose from for rental, even after the 28 days, yet a LOT of it is not available for streaming.
If they are signing these 28 day delays, then they need to be able to stream the movie at the same time they offer it on DVD. | |
