I am not familiar with all this geo-caching stuff but I would like to know if anyone knows how precise the location is with this tech? I fly RC airplanes and was thinking this would be a cool / cheap locator device when I loose a plane in the woods.

It is not a tracking device. You will only receive information from it if you're within a short range (about 30 feet).

The thing is only track-able by a handful of devices. So unless you already own one of them it is not worth the cost.

It sounds like the Delorme Spot should do what you want. ONLY ~$500.
