| reply to dmolavi I'll be more than happy to beta test as well..
Trying to use the web on my android for that kinda stuff is next to impossible! Gotta wear the glasses when surfing, most apps have a big enough font that I can still read it w/out glasses!
Guess I need a bigger droid!... |

| reply to dmolavi Iphone all the way baby. Unfortunately the Android phones may have outsold all other platforms but will never compare to the usability and compatibility of the iPhone. Iphone just is more mainstream in the world at the moment. I don't think we are going to see an Android app anytime soon :-( |

1 edit | reply to dmolavi I have the EVO too...and i have a 17" hi-res laptop and a 55" HD TV.
But recording a show or series on my DirecTV DVR is actually simpler and easier on my EVO that it is on the web app or on the TV screen.
If VT develops an Android App, they should look closely at the DirecTV Android App because it's better than the DVR or DirectTV Web site - at least for the simple task of searching for shows and recording them ! -- YOU can help reduce poverty, sustainably. »www.kiva.org/lender/kenandart

The fact is that Android OS leads all other platforms, including iOS, and that's a large segment of the market to ignore. There needs to be some priority put on creating an Android app soon, or I'll be looking elsewhere for my phone service.
BTW, I find it ironic that ViaTalk, a low cost phone service alternative, only has an app for the most expensive device/platform on the market. |

My renewal will be coming up soon, and if I don't hear anything from VT about an app in the works for Android, I will start shopping around for providers that have one.
It's interesting that there is no comment from VT on this issue, either. I understand that they're a small-ish operation, but Android apps are Java-based, so they shouldn't have a problem finding someone with at least some knowledge of Java that can put something together. -- NukedGallery.net TheMolavis.com |

vtphilk join:2005-11-11 Morrisville, NC | reply to dmolavi I too am waiting on a android app. My second line at my house is a FiOS digital voice and Verizon has some REALLY cool android apps. Its amazing what you can do (Direct calling, get voicemails, forward phone, simring, call block, etc..) all from my android phone. I'm thinking when my renewal is up might just fork up the extra $14.99/month to Verizon for a second DN rather have the viatalk. I love the viatalk features but Verizon is steping it up! |

 | reply to dmolavi Was talking to a tech support person on the phone today at VT and was told that an android app and a blackberry app is being worked on. Asked if I could get on some beta list but he did not know of any beta program right now. Just wish they get the android app out and maybe allow calling using my 3g. This would be super for people who subscribe to vt_world plan. |
|
 | reply to dmolavi What features is the app slated to have? Just something simple like an easy way to check voice mail would be great to start with and that should be pretty easy. |

kyler13Is your fiber grounded? join:2006-12-12 Arnold, MD | reply to dmolavi I'm officially taking action on whether or not we see Android 2.4 before ViaTalk gets an Android app released. I can't believe they're not even ready to beta test yet. We're talking about basic control panel access here, not running a SIP PBX server from our mobile phones. Cripes. |

 | reply to dmolavi Bria's iPhone and Android VOIP app works well with my BYOD account on Viatalk. It works so well, I'm in Kuwait and use it on my phone here over 3G for calling back to the States. -- Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.
