For the Houston area : can anybody that has the new DOCSIS 3.0 modem (Motorola SB6120) report any improvements in their download/upload speeds with Comcast? Please state your general location and what speed tier do you presently have (Performance, Blast, etc.). Thanks in advance gals and guys!
I talked to a supervisor and said our area was scheduled to be upgraded by the end of the year. I know that some of the North Houston area has it (Woodlands is one I think) but I can't wait for our area to give us the Blast! tier upgrade to 20/4. Even if they roll out DOCSIS 3.0 in my area I wonder how much will benefit me if I am on the 12/2 tier (Performance).
I think very high Power Boost (I've seen 50-60 on 20/4 plans in the fourms) but thats just power boost and to future proof upgrades which will happen in a few years. I will hold onto my 5101 until they push the regular tiers past the speeds my modem can handle. I pull this pretty consistently on my 16/2 Blast! (with power boost) I also use a D-Link Dir-628 router
