Why is Rogers.com always having "technical difficulties"?

Never on their sales-pitch pages, or course.

For the last week I've been trying to update my payment method and at the last step I got "We are experiencing technical difficulties, please try later." I'm not entirely comfortable with the idea of giving my CC info over the phone either.

Odd I changed mine just fine earlier in the week. Haven't had any problems with the site in a few weeks either.

Odd indeed. Tried it with IE and Firefox again today. Same error.

I find a lot of the times I have to be using their website during 'business hours' for it to work, otherwise I usually get the same thing with the 'technical difficulties' message.

Considering that the rDNS for their site is crazy too ... resolving to www.shell.ca which ISN'T on that IP if you attempt to get its IP!

That just shows that their web presence is all messed up from the get-go! It's never been right in about 9 years.

my guesstimate is that if to many are trying to access myrogers at the same time you probably end up with the error msg.

Imagine that a Telecom company having problems with it's website.

Rogers always have issues with their site. I like the new design but the performance and reliability really stink. Usually when I get an error, I always clear my cookies and log back in. Sometimes, it solves the problem.

I went there several times today and it was quite snappy. No problems at all.

Dude like seriously, why would you give your CC to such a backwards broken website like this. They will need to do much better than this for me to trust them with a payment.
