Cool.Cool. Meanwhile, I'm struggling to maintain an HD stream from Netflix and the 10Mbps and I am paying for during the evening with Centurylink. |

Yep.
Speaking about Netflix, anyone with an Xbox and Netflix seeing connection issues? I mean, I have a 15/15 and I shouldn't be seeing less than 3 bars (unless it's Netflix or Xbox issue).
Ha. 2.4Gbps... I GOT MORE GEEBEES with FIOS!!! (need new router, and likely fiber direct to PC/MAC interfaces...)
And lo, the King and his court get SUPERFIOS, whilest the peasants get DSL! (if they are lucky)...
Support "Fiber 2 the Farm" Project!!! Rural fiber...it's more than grain, it's FIBER! |

I don't use Netflix on the 360 but on the PS3 & computer I can't seem to get an HD stream with an 8Mbps connection |

I use the 360, and yes, I'm struggling to maintain 4 bars and an HD stream. But I think it's related to the fact that I'm only seeing 2-4Mbps during the evening on my supposed 10Mbps connection. |

Netflix sent out an email saying they were having some issues, and were issuing a credit of some sort... |

While I don't use Netflix, I believe they are having issues with their CDN considering that outage last week. |

Yawn. Its fiber it can go faster than this. If DSL can go 10 Gbps then that would be news. |

It is news because fiber to the home or a regular business doesn't have equipment cheap enough to deploy such a thing. This is a test of equipment that will be cheap enough to do that at some point. Yes, fiber is hundreds of times faster than this right now when running DWDM equipment utilizing 160 separate frequencies for 10G/40G/100G, but it is extremely expensive, and would never be deployed to homes or businesses that need a single connection. You don't compare backbone fiber speeds to FTTH speeds and yawn about it. But if you have a 160 channel DWDM ROADM setup at your house, then I guess you're allowed... |

The problem is, no small business or residential customer can PAY for the bandwidth in the core router that they will be using. The loop is the cheap part, the backbone and spare capacity on the router wont be. |
