Too convenient

I could cut the cord easily, but my wife and kids wouldn't like it and it would be harder for them.

Would I like to save the $225 a month (actually $125 since my internet would go up to $100 outside the triple play)? Yup. But it's just not worth the inconvenience. So, to me, the extra money is worth it--I'm paying for convenience for the rest of my family.

Not worth $1500 a year? Also what internet do you have that's $100 a month?

Cable is just easier. It's a familiar interface and easy for our kids to operate. On demand is simple enough that the wife and kids can use it with no problem. I'd like to save the money, but it's not worth the annoyance of my wife and kids bugging me about things not working or not understandng how to make things work.

I have Comcast's 50/10. It's $99.00 without bundling.

Well obviously you could go with a lower speed. Would I like Charter's 60 Meg or even their 25 Meg tier? Sure but not at their prices. I find their 16 Meg tier more than adequate. This is households with 3 PCs and a XBOX 360. I'm not sure 25 meg is worth the extra $180 a year and the 60 Meg certainly isn't worth an extra $720.

I like the 50/10 speed. It would be hard to go back to slower, even though we aren't all that heavy of users.

I think, in the end, it's just not enough money to care about.
