 | Internet Explorer cannot display this web page error OFTEN! I saw someone else post with this but he never had any replies. I'm struggling with this as well. The strange thing is that my CONNECTION is fine. I can ping, update antivirus & malware programs, even use a P2P just fine. The problem is just with browsing.
I'll log on with IE8 or Firefox. I browse normally for a while and then I'll get the "Internet Explorer cannot display this web page" error on IE or Firefox gives: "The connection was reset The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading. * The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments. * If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection. * If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
SOMETIMES if I hit refresh a time or two the page comes up. Other times I have to reboot and then it's OK. On bad days I'll have to reboot several times in 15 minutes.
AT&T has found problems from time to time but never permanently fixes the issue. Last time they insist the problem is on my PC despite the fact that it also bothers our wi-fi connected laptops, hard wired Wii and netflix BluRay player too.
Anyone have an idea? Modem is a 2-Wire 2701 and was replaced 8 mo ago. PC and laptops regularly checked for malware & viruses and updated daily.
Thanks! |

 | I use FireFox rather than IE. However, I get the same error MANY, MANY times per day. I notice that you're in St. Louis -- same here. What's up? |

I've traced it (I believe) to failed DNS requests. I don;t know if it's a 2Wire router problem, or AT&T's crummy DNS servers. Still working on it. |
