Re: Bring Back the Bad Old Days! the movies aren't as good. there is no shawshank redemtion of 2010 and I don't forsee something as good in 2020. it's always special effects this, big-named start that. when you sit down and watch, the quality of the acting, writing and directing is poor - it feels like first year college student's work.
there is certainly a problem with the population though - they keep paying money for this garbage and in a capitalistic society, if i can sell garbage to a dumb american, i'll cross fillet minion off the menu. | | imtim83I hate those people so muchPremium join:2001-06-03 Kenner, LA | said by Roop:the movies aren't as good. there is no shawshank redemtion of 2010 and I don't forsee something as good in 2020. it's always special effects this, big-named start that. when you sit down and watch, the quality of the acting, writing and directing is poor - it feels like first year college student's work. there is certainly a problem with the population though - they keep paying money for this garbage and in a capitalistic society, if i can sell garbage to a dumb american, i'll cross fillet minion off the menu. There are plenty of recent files out there as good as shawshank redemtion. Many even better. The problem is finding them sometimes. -- Wow talk about a mod being mad at me getting my gif to work without having to ask for help on the dslreports forums. Well at least mother nature will take care of that for me. xD Can't wait to read it | | | reply to Roop said by Roop:the movies aren't as good. there is no shawshank redemtion of 2010 and I don't forsee something as good in 2020. it's always special effects this, big-named start that. when you sit down and watch, the quality of the acting, writing and directing is poor - it feels like first year college student's work. there is certainly a problem with the population though - they keep paying money for this garbage and in a capitalistic society, if i can sell garbage to a dumb american, i'll cross fillet minion off the menu. The world of cinema is huge, and every year, there are hundreds of good to great films release through out it's far reaches. Many (most?) of these films will NOT be shown in most (any?) of the local outlets of the handful of national and regional chains that almost completely dominate theatrical presentation in the USA.
Unfortunately, that is a major reason that Netflix (for all earlier deceitful, unethical, yet quasi-legal practices) is now important: It's title selection, albeit now increasing delayed in availability, is very very wide. You might consider checking out the truly great titles of the type of films that you enjoy that never are projected here in the USA, but certainly are out there to be experienced in the privacy of your own home, if you look a bit harder for them.... | | imtim83I hate those people so muchPremium join:2001-06-03 Kenner, LA | said by Bobby_Peru:said by Roop:the movies aren't as good. there is no shawshank redemtion of 2010 and I don't forsee something as good in 2020. it's always special effects this, big-named start that. when you sit down and watch, the quality of the acting, writing and directing is poor - it feels like first year college student's work. there is certainly a problem with the population though - they keep paying money for this garbage and in a capitalistic society, if i can sell garbage to a dumb american, i'll cross fillet minion off the menu. Exactly plus the internet. Please don't forget how powerful the internet has become to let you experience movies and youtube videos from around the world! No matter if there only available in a certain region or not. Plenty of French films are like this Though that is not the only ones. German, Norwegian you name it. -- Wow talk about a mod being mad at me getting my gif to work without having to ask for help on the dslreports forums. Funny you bring that up. watched a movie last night, not top shelf by any means, but pretty good. I kept going back and forth (the writers kept throwing red herrings out there) who the "bad guys" were.
About an hour in, all was revealed.. so they could spend the next 20 or so minutes on a back story.
What happened to telling us "Whodunnit" at the end of the movie? -- Jake: "Four fried chickens, and a coke" Elwood: "And some dry white toast, please" | | imtim83I hate those people so muchPremium join:2001-06-03 Kenner, LA | said by elwoodblues:said by Roop:the movies aren't as good. there is no shawshank redemtion of 2010 and I don't forsee something as good in 2020. it's always special effects this, big-named start that. when you sit down and watch, the quality of the acting, writing and directing is poor - it feels like first year college student's work. there is certainly a problem with the population though - they keep paying money for this garbage and in a capitalistic society, if i can sell garbage to a dumb american, i'll cross fillet minion off the menu.
