I was told to call 1-888-292-3827 and tell them I wanted to have my line tested as the problem was happening. I called them and they set up a test for tonight. You may want to give them a call and see what can be done. |

Having a line test ran will do nothing. As we told you earlier, we are already aware of an issue which is being worked on. A line test is a troubleshooting step. No troubleshooting needs to be performed when the issue has already been found.
Also, that phone number is to level 1 support, just FYI. -JV 58519 |

Could you possibly give a brief explanation as to what issue would cause your service to be bad only during peak times? And yeah that number was not much help, they told me they were well aware of my 100% packet loss issue and it was being looked into. I told her I did not have a packet loss issue but she assured me that I did and it would be fixed soon. So I'll tell you what. I will not ask for an ETA anymore since it seems to put you guys out. I will however continue to update this thread to document the issues I am experiencing. Please do not mistake my frustration with these issues as a lack of appreciation for your efforts to fix my problem. I do appreciate your assistance in helping resolve this. |

How can it be anything other than a oversubscribed/capacity issue when the ONLY time I have the problems is when it is during peak hours for internet use? This happens day after day. This cannot be a coincidence. This is what I've been thinking, these are PEAK usage hours (5-12 during the week, during the day sometimes on weekends). |

Yeah it is awesome paying for garbage service such as this. I guess when they are the only game in town they figure that they can drag their feet on trying to fix problems since the customers only choice is to deal with it or simply cancel the service. Speed tests from Sat Dec. 18th 2010 Now late tonight once the majority of people have turned of their pc's the connection will miraculously go back to how it SHOULD be. Unbelievable. |

This cannot be a coincidence. This is what I've been thinking, these are PEAK usage hours (5-12 during the week, during the day sometimes on weekends). It has been the same pattern for almost 2 months straight. Yet Windstream says it cannot be a oversubscribed/capacity issue. I have 3 neighbors that experience the EXACT same speed issues during peak times. I would really like to know what else could be causing such slow downs and unusable service during these times. Yet, off peak hours the connection is perfect. My patience is wearing thin regarding this. At least 3 of my neighbors finally realize what is going on and they plan to start complaining about the poor service. I am not going to go away until you fix this Windstream. All your customers want is what they are paying for. |

12:30 am and most local users have called it a night and just like that my connection is back to HOW IT SHOULD BE. So stop with the BS that it is something other than a capacity/oversubscribed issue and do what you need to in order to fix this crap. Almost 2 months of wasting time and making excuses. Enough is enough.

We still do not have an ETR, but planning is in place to construct new fiber feeds for your remote which will alleviate the problem. We'll update you further as we hear more.
Edit: A short-term fix (since installing fiber isn't an instant problem) is to free up enough room to install an additional T1 in the area that should help alleviate the problem. We should be hearing additional news regarding this fix by Monday of next week (the 27th).

Lol... and they told you at first there wasn't an oversubscribe issue in the area and now they are running more fiber? Our net has started to do this after about 5pm EST till 1 or 2 in the AM. I doubt there is an oversubscribe issue in my area being in the middle of BFE, but they still haven't responded to my thread or given any insight as to wtf could be happening. I would take cable with a monthly cap over this service any day. Even for what I'm paying now I could get 10x faster speeds. Shame rural areas are screwed. |

The fiber install has been approved for this coming year and we are awaiting scheduling. The additional T1 should be scheduled soon as well. We won't be able to get an update regarding the T1 though until Monday of next week. -JV 58519 |
