Mail about ip Tracking

Hello
I received a letter from gwi allowing me to opt-out of some form of advertising, I opt out, but I am unclear what it concerns it appeared to me to indicate they planed to inventory our browsing and then sell the info to advertisers but again it was not clear.
Did anyone else receive such a letter, and if so how do you read it to mean?
