Reliant Energy Plans

Click for full size
I am on the Flex Plan and pay .141 kWh.

I notice in the image they have a Power Tracker one
that is based on the price of natural gas at 9.5 per kWh.

Has anybody had any experience with this plan and it's costs
flucuations if any.

Not sure about that but I know you are paying way to much for electricity.
I used to be on Reliant. Switched to TXU. Electric bill dropped over $100/month. No contracts either.
Currently I pay 9.3 cents per kw/hour

Are you willing to look outside of Reliant? If so you could do a lot better. The 9.5c plan you are looking at will vary (and only in the up direction I suspect). I changed from Reliant to StarTex, it has saved me close to $1K over the 2+ years I have had them. Reliant will do whatever it can to raise your rates.

Bingo. That is who I picked.

They wanted a $350 deposit because they did a "soft credit check" and I have a freeze on all three credit companies and it wouldn't go through. I decided heck with it and unfroze all three.

I don't owe anybody a cent and figured I wouldn't need any credit checks but this is the second time I have ran in to this situation.

I am going to wait until next week and go online and sign up with them on a 1 year plan at 9.6c.

I had been with HL&P and Realiant for over 40 years and they are like AT&T in that they never try to do the right thing until you get ready to leave them.

My brother has been with StarTex for over 3 years and has been real happy.

Thanks for the input.

We lucked out and got a 14 month lock with 10.4 cents per kWh with Reliant and we were getting jacked 15 cents from TXU which we've had for 5 years and they didn't want to compare the price and keep us.

I think you will be happy. They kind of remind me of the Southwest Airlines of the Texas Energy market. They are no frills and provide a financial reasonable alternative. When it was time to re-up my contract they provided one with better terms than my previous one. I saw somewhere that they had one of the highest customer satisfaction ratings in our area.

I just did not want to help pay the naming right fee for the football stadium.
