The same to you and everyone else in the forum.

So what is everyone doing for Thanksgiving?

I don't have to cook, just make 2 cream cheese pies with cherry topping and chocolate cookie crusts. So now they are driving me crazy cause I can't touch them.

I am driving to the tip of Maine! 10 miles south of the Canadian border. My sister and her family bought a place there. In the middle of no place!
Once I get of the main road, it is 14 miles of "logging" roads to the camp. (AKA: dirt roads) No power lines, phone, running water, cell phone service (maybe a weak "roam" from a Canadian service.) Forget TV, and maybe 1 or 2 radio stations..... that suck!

There won't be a football game on TV to break up "guys from the girls."

Dinner and heat will be from from a wood cook stove.
Lights from gas lanterns.

I'm going to my sister's house. My mother is tired of cooking and entertaining in her small townhouse, and my sister just moved out to a decent sized home this year. At first my sister lamented having to prepare the feast, but my mother volunteered to cook everything ... she just wanted the bigger space.

Lovely day, minor grease fire in the oven but I had a great day.

Edit: Leftover Patrol! I make a gravy and mashed potatoes to wake up for!

I had a good drive up north. My newly bought GPS went right to the camps door step (Funny, it is in the middle of nowhere, but can find that address, but NOT MY OWN HOME address?) Anyway, Thanksgiving was fantastic! Great time with the family and friends, food was just fantastic..... and of course very plentiful. As capecoddah See Profile said "...left over patrol!" In any way you wanted it.

My drive home was more eventful. I drove head on into freezing rain. I hadn't yet put an ice scraper in the car and the windshield kept icing up. I destroyed two credit cards using them to scrape with. Until I finally found an open store that sold ice scrapers! I never was so glad to buy an ice scraper in my life.

The roads were a mess. Covered in ice, cars sliding, etc. I had my 4 wheel drive engaged, but still took it slow. And trying to stop at intersections was nerve wracking....

But I made it home safe and sound!

Now there it talk to have Christmas up there...... Hmmm, it was fun for Thanksgiving but I am not sure about Christmas!

Anyway.....
