Default Actiontec MI424-WR Rev F password?(Disclaimer: my market is served by Frontier rather than Verizon, but in this case I don't think it matters.)
I got FiOS installed today I want to set up the DMZ option so that I can manage my network using my router that has Tomato on it (port forwarding, wifi whitelist, etc. etc.).
For the life of me though I cannot manage to get past the log in screen on my modem/router combo that was provided to me. I've tried Firefox 4, Chrome, and IE9 just to make sure it's not a browser issue. Neither admin/password nor admin/password1 worked, so assuming the tech changed my password to something else, I hit the reset button on the back of the device. Still though I cannot log in!
"Login failed, please try again:"
Does anyone have any suggestions? It's probably a stupidly simple solution too... |

The password is the serial number (not the MAC address) on the back of the modem. |

The one under the barcode? It doesn't seem to work in either uppercase or lowercase. Hmm. |

Make sure you're holding the reset button in long enough. The lights should all go out, then flash rapidly.
I believe that after a hard reset the rev. F should come up and prompt you for a new password. |

Try username (lower case): admin Password: Serial Number on Modem Also read this thread about password changes by Verizon: » Router password change? If you still can't get in, you'll have to call Frontier. |

I believe that after a hard reset the rev. F should come up and prompt you for a new password. It looks like this was the case. I just quickly pressed the reset button before which made it reboot itself, but this time I held it for a good 15+ seconds before letting go. It rebooted same as before, but now it's prompting me for a password. Thanks all! |

Just to be clear:
User Name: admin (lowercase)
Password: (router's serial number - alpha characters are uppercase) |
