Re: I'm with Verizon on needing a total telecomm law rewrite

We the Consumers? laws should be just and fair to all, especially the business this will affect most. theoretically it's the job of the law-makers to use the Constitution to justify a law, then take input from the businesses and people it affects to come up with a fair law, grounded in the Constitution, that does not favor one business or people over another simply because of contributions or other perks.

if they fail to follow these guidelines, they need to be replaced, period.

Business will ALWAYS try to promote legislation to better itself. If the legislation is not grounded in the Constitution then it shouldnt be passed and you have only the politicians to blame. I'm not saying the businesses are "just" in their ability to lobby congress, but when a bill is designed merely to hurt competitors and is not based on the Constitution then it's the politicians' job to not pass it. There have been thousands of bills drafted or influenced by "big business" that have been completely justified by the Constitution and were promoted by the businesses to increase their profitability. These bills almost always undo or ease pre-existing, unconstitutional regulations.

Business will always find loopholes and ways around regulation. always. Is it their fault for wanting increased profits or the law-makers' faults for Unconstitutional regulation?
