Re: 12 months free? (when you renew for 12 months)

I renewed on Tuesday evening because a pop-up gave me the 12+12 option as I logged on. I wasn't due until 4/14/11 for renewal.

ben19803, that is interesting... I never get a popup on any of my accounts. I even have my popup blocker allowing popups from viatalk as well. Which that can make it even worse actually...who may get that and may not. Just alone on this thread it varies and not sure was the condition or criteria is.

In addition, what I'm referring to is for new clients as well not *just* for existing long-lasting customers.

Does Viatalk not want new customers? I have always been a loyal customer to Viatalk. But I have to say, they have not published anything good as of yet for a promotion. I'm still waiting patiently to get my parents on a good deal like the $189 for 12+12. It's quite interesting VOIPO is offering $149 for 24 months.

I've always been very loyal to Viatalk and want to continue to be but it's beginning to diminish. This is due to the fact that I really can't recommend them being that the price point is not comparable as with a competitor.

As mentioned previously, referrals and recommendations help strengthen a business. Moving to a competitor does not help, obviously. Am I the only one that feels or are there others out there that concur? Anybody have any suggestions?

I would have a chat with sales/customer service and tell them just what you stated here. You got nothing to lose except a little time.

Never understood the logic of doing away with prepay plans. Maybe they are more trouble than they are worth but looks like us long term VT folks like them. Not sure why they just can't offer both.

I complete agree. I did call the sales and explained. They indicated they did away with pre-paid plans and contracts and all.

However, I expressed that VOIPO.com has for residential being $149 for 24 months and it's published on their site. I expressed that being a long time customer of Viatalk and based off the quality and everything I would be perfectly fine with the $189 for 12+12 months free (24 months) for my parents or any referral/recommendation. The sales rep mentioned there was nothing she could do but I could leave a message on one of the mailboxes she said the managers review and said they typically respond in 24 hours. So, I did.

Whether or not anybody on their side ever reviews that mailbox and responds is beyond me. I'll give it the benefit of the doubt to even get a response within the 24 hours and hope I am not disappointed on that.

Even for current customers on the yearly plan? Maybe so. I went into my account and under the "Packages" tab I think there used to be an option to renew for another year at $199. It is no longer there. This is the plan currently showing under the "Packages" tab as my "active packages".

ETA: This Viatalk forum is slow as molasses these days. Either customers are drifting away to other providers or things are all good in Viatalk land. Not sure which.

They never clarified on that nor did I ask. I do know my office number renewed under the same plan I had before though. That was good. Caught me a little off guard because I was focusing in on my parents line and spaced the renewal out. But it renewed which under the same plan as before which was not monthly.

My service just keeps working transparently... no reason to post here!

Although I do wish they would "announce" any special deals to existing customers as they happen. I automatically renewed a few months ago at $199 for 12 months, then later saw a 12 month with 6 months free deal at $189.. I called in and got that deal, but would be nice to know what's available before renewing; especially those 12 month free ones! Getting the price down under $10 is more competitive with what's out there (especially after their $3.50 extra fees).
