| Yes I've heard that...but I've seen it many times before.
Usually it goes, cold...heat...rain...quake.
cold = ground contracts
heat = ground expands
rain = soaks into ground and exacerbates fault lines
= quake.
May not be fully scientific, but like I said, I've seen the cycle happen several times before. Could it be coincidence? Sure.

I'm not taking credit for these - but there's been about 13 quakes off the coast of Japan today so far - the largest being a 7.4 and the rest from 5.1 to 5.9 (my app doesn't care about < 5.0's)
