2000 GMC Sonoma, 2WD 4 cylinder 2.2 engine

2000 GMC Sonoma, 2WD 4 cylinder 2.2 engine

I need to know how to tell if the vehicle has anti lock brakes or not before I order front rotors. I would prefer a method of detection that doesn't require pulling the wheels etc. A stout application of brakes on both dry snowy surfaces isn't telling me what's up.

The parts list at the supplier shows rotors with & without anti lock feature.

Thanks

Look for an electrical connector on the back of the hub for the wheel speed sensor. It also looks like the ABS-models have a larger hub on the front of the rotor where the non-ABS rotors don't, at least according to Napa's online pictures.

Speed sensor wiring -- good thought.
That should tell the tale.
Thanks.

Turn the key to on. When the dash lights blink, see if an ABS light is there. If not, then no ABS or the light is burned out.

Do 70 mph and slam on the brakes. If they lock up and slide you have no ABS.

How about just opening the hood and look for the ABS pump? Its usually near the master brake cylinder.
Here's what it looks like on an 02.
