QX.NET Is the Quentissential DSL X-Press!

I ordered Bronze + through GTE, I too had the initial 226K/64K problem, it stems from their software setting you at the now-defunct Bronze Level instead of Bronze +, it's an easy fix if you can convince EPAC you know what you're talking about. If your speedtests bottom at 220-250K that's probably why. I got lucky and have a direct line into Tier 5 EPG. As for QX, besides GTE's cut (32.50/per mo.) They only take $17.00 (for basic priority) You get your own static IP, and 100% UN-METERED BANDWIDTH!(Unlike IGLOO) I quote their page: "We know you aren't getting broadband DSL to only download 100megs a month." I've been with QX for over a year now (with Dial-up/static) before I got DSL. They're generally great to deal with, and since they use a DS3 as a backbone and not just DELSI (if you're a techie, you'll get it) you'll have much better service, since they, like GTE, use ATM Frame Relay Switching. (Don't ask if you don't know) Call em up: (859)255-1928! Oh, as a side-note, they also Firewall common attack ports on Home DSL (and now Dial-ups as well) I received a perfect 0 at »www.secure-me.net WITHOUT my firewall up, now that's service!
