I'm famous... kinda

My photo

has been used in the February 2011 Trains magazine. This is the first time any of my photos has been used in a major magazine.

Congratulations from a Kalmbach Publishing Co. subscriber (Model Railroader). Top-notch photography in MRR and Trains. QUITE an accomplishment!!!

I hope you appreciate my photo attempt for your last birthday Vax. It was like 2am, and you get what you pay for . I'll have to get back to work on my layout and add Vaxvms' Rail Fan Photographic Studios. Perhaps I'll get up to MMR standards on a section and you can do a pix or 3.

Ringling Bros. stuff is WAY cool! I saw the TV show episode (History? Discovery?) about it and was fascinated. A big Model and Rail-Fan following for circus trains for those of you 'out of the train loop'.

Issue has Scratch and sniff? YIKES!!! Grey/brown water, hobos, chemicals....

Edit: Searched for Vax B-Day, found pix.

It was 2 am and you can see plywood!

Thanks everyone! I was surprised one day to find an email from the magazine editor say he saw my circus train pics and was interested in possibly using one or 2. I found out right before Christmas that they were using one of the photos. It's one of the best Christmas presents I got.

I take the crappiest pictures.
If I had talent and an eye, I would be so proud to have someone notice and want to use (my) picture. But alas, my camera, and myself, are both "amateurs"
That said, I am very proud of you. And you should be too because some recognized your talent. Grab it while you can!

And when he gets famous, we can say we knew him when.

Congrats! That has to be a thrill! I'll have to check out the mag.

EDIT Looks like a cool magazine and they don't rip off contributors. I was wondering if there was a market out there for this kind of photography. I'll have to share some photos I took of Walkersville Southern Railroad. I organized a photoshoot there last November and came away with some cool images.
