replace 2wire wifi router

I have experience with the 2wire router, which hasn't failed yet, but is not worth $100. For my house, I purchased a Netopia 3347-02 from tigerdirect for around $40. It works like a charm. The fancier version ($130) is used by att dsl for business. I believe everything is the same except the software options. I found all the options I needed except I would have liked wireless N. However, at dsl speeds, wireless N isn't going to buy you noticeable internet speed. I am not a salesperson for any of the above.

I learned about the Netopia after I purchased a replacement 2Wire for the first one that failed after 1 year. The lesson I came away with is to buy the modem separate from the router. That way if the router dies, I would have a working modem. That being said, AT&T should offer the Netopia as an upgrade in the residential DSL section. Some of us would have gladly paid for a better engineered and manufactured device. Yes, $100 is a lot to pay for the 2Wire. But maybe it subsidizes the technical help call center.
