Looking for Powerful Latop

Can anyone recommend a good brand of laptop with specs as the following (if one such animal even exists):
Intel CPU - quad core (i7)
Memory - 16GB ram
Hard Drive - SSDs, dual would be nice.

Basically looking to make a portable VMware Workstation host. Hardest part seems to be finding the 16GB requirement. Dual SSDs as well, but that's just a like to have.
Thanks.

AFAIK there is no mobile platform that supports 16 GB RAM right now. Right now they all take 2x 4 GB DIMMs for 8GB max. As of yet I've never seen a mobile platform with more than 2 DIMM slots.

I suppose there might be true 'desktop replacement' monster units that use desktop chipsets) but for a proper solution Intel Sandy Bridge coming soon is supposed to support 8 GB DIMMs. So you could be waiting for that, and then for some 8 GB SODIMMS to appear. I don't see any on newegg right now, makes sense since there is zero demand until SB drops and then they may start to trickle out, at insanely high prices of course.

Thanks for the input.

It seems the Dell Precision Mobile Workstations support up to 32GB of RAM, Core i7 processors, and Dual SSDs.

The Asus G73JW. That can easily handle 16GB of RAM, along with 2 HDD/SSDs and has a sweet graphics card and processor.

..oh ya.. You can get one of these for under $2k (default config).

HP's Elitebook Workstation series laptops are very high end and configurable as hell. They are capable of 32GB of RAM:

17" Model »h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quic···div.HTML

15" Model »h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quic···div.HTML

We use Elitebooks and I can only say good things about them. They are built like tanks and can be very powerful when configured properly.
