 | [COLORADO] A wonderful weekend in the mountains I took the wife to Salida, CO for her birthday. We did a bunch of sight seeing, a little hiking, and went for a swim in the hot springs pool. The pictures are from near the Ruby Mtn. State Recreation Area. -- Gadgets |

 | said by Omega:Nice pictures. I am very surprised about the lack of snow on the ground. Salida is in a little bit of a banana belt. The geography pushes the weather around it quite a bit. I think that it is probably a whole lot whiter today. I have seen it where the snow is falling N, S, E, & W of Salida and the sun will be shining, but they do get their share of the snow. We were in a riverside park on Friday right in town and saw a man fly fishing. He had two on his stringer, 12-14 inchers. -- Gadgets |

 | MtBikerChris you need to check out Salida sometime. One of the activities that they tout is all the available biking in the area. We have seen a lot of bikers, anything from road to trail. -- Gadgets |

One of the activities that they tout is all the available biking in the area. We have seen a lot of bikers, anything from road to trail. The Monarch Crest Trail is rated on of the top 10 trails in the US by most mountain bike magazines. It's a 30+ mile shuttle ride from the top. 10 miles on the Continental divide, 10 miles of forests and downhill action followed by the 10 miles on the Rainbow Trail. It's been a couple years since I last rode it but it used to be an annual, must do ride. -- Front Range Mountain Bike Patrol - »www.frmbp.org Go4it2day Web Services - »www.go4it2day.com |
