If..

If the connection goes unresponsive for that amount of time it could be something on your end because I was having the same issue and it turned out to be some bad firmware in my router once I flashed it back to some old version all was well again.

Time Warner internet just sucks. The TV menu guide is laggy as well. Extremely annoying. Almost as annoying as paying the same price and getting half the upload as COX.

I do remember when the dashboard update came out for the cable boxes here it was laggy as hell but its working great now. Oh well can't keep everyone happy.

Sorry, didn't mean to imply I was unhappy. Time Warner is a decent cable company but when you come from an area with a great cable company it makes it seem worse.

As for the TV menu, shouldn't the firmware get pushed automatically?

Yea that is usually done late at night during offpeak hours. At least when it was done here it was done after midnight and I just happened to be awake for a few of their firmware updates.

Can you force an upgrade on the menu somehow?

You probably have a different box from the one I have which might explain that.

I have a SA 8240HDC, bout all I can say is to be patient and you will get it eventually if they havent sent it out already.
