 | Rather Irrelevant Notice. I have taken down the RR poll as it has cost me my job. The powers that be at Road Runner decided they didn't like it and I had no right to put it up. I was "advised" to take it down to prevent legal action against me. |

| reply to Just A Girl$ I'm very sorry to hear that Chelle. It's been my observation over the last few months that you have been helpful to many a person here and always respectful towards both RR's customers and to the company itself. As the top of this forum indicates, over 200 RR customers post on this forum. RR should have someone like yourself here in an official capacity to assist this many customers. But, they don't.
Instead..you took your own time to do just that. If anything..RR management should be grateful that someone like yourself took that time to do just that.
Good luck to you. And, one thing to remember is sometimes things like this end up leading to much bigger and better things.

I'll be happy to write a letter of support. Can you tell me where it should go? You have been very helpful to people here in this forum and, as RR Rick has pointed out, RR should have someone here officially but they don't. You were helping out on your own time. The poll was fun and interesting and RR is really out of bounds in telling you to take it down and then firing you? That is outrageous. |

 | reply to Just A Girl$ Chelle,
I'd be sure to contact a lawyer right away - and do NOT post anything else anywhere in public about this until you get notice from the lawyer about what to and not to say.
You might want to contact my friend Nelson Thomas at Dolin, Thomas and Solomon. They specialize in representing plaintiffs who are suing employees in wrongful firing disputes.

 | reply to Just A Girl$ Forums such as DSLReports and Speedguide are watched by at least some of the cable companies and the like. This is not the first time this sort of thing has happened.
With the recent mention of DSLReports in PC Magazine (?) it's likely that this forum will be watched even closer.
Unfortunately, what one person may think is supportive of his or her employer may be viewed differently from their head shed.
Please be careful.
(Not meaning to poach on WillardK's territory, but just to let you know it happens on more forums than this one.)

Mele20Premium join:2001-06-05 Hilo, HI kudos:4 | reply to Checked The Facts In case you missed what Chelle edited, the second comment she made said, a bit defiantly, that she had put it back up with all the data missing and she needed it as proof in contesting her job loss. I went there about two hours ago and she did not have the disclaimer at that time. I voted again. Now I see the disclaimer. I don't think this is a good reason to believe she didn't loose her job because she probably read Kip's post and acted wisely. She edited her response to my previous post before I had time to see it, again, probably a wise move.
Everyone knows that the survey was not "official" so I don't think a disclaimer was necessary. Even to someone who had not read these threads, it did not look "official". The url was posted some time ago to alt.online-services.roadrunner and the poster made it clear that it was not an "official" poll. The people who responded to that post didn't seem to be confused into thinking it was an official poll either. I don't know how Road Runner could think it would be mistaken for such. |

Just for the record..when I made my initial post above, the poll was taken down. As Mele indicated, she then made a post saying she was putting it back up. I see no reason to doubt what she's said.

 | reply to Just A Girl$ I am sorry you got fired for running a pol. What I see on the various forms I go to Road Runner gets a good rating. I know here where I live it is outstanding. E-Mail support is slow. I have had no problems with it and I have recommended Road Runner to my friends in and around me. It is far superior to the DSL that is is being offered locally.
