Opening Port 25565Hey there! Love the speeds and all, but I do have one lil favor I wish for you guys to do for me. Please, open up a port for me! Me and my dad have tried EVERYTHING. We've opened up all sorts of ports (even the one I'm talking about). And for some weird reason, it won't open. He even opened up our router to the world, pretty much. And it still wouldn't actually connect. When we try to connect to the port, it just gives us a "Connection Times Out" type of error. So please, if you guys can, please help us open up the port 25565.
If you need more information, please e-mail me at: phantomkendrick1@hotmail.com
Or contact me by Skype (What I'm mostly on): d3m0kr4cy
Thank you very much for your time. Great speeds by the way! - Kendrick |

If he has XP and higher, then by default he has a firewall that needs disabling |

Sorry if it's the wrong place to put it. And my Firewall is actually turned off.
I have Windows 7 Ultimate installed, and just really want to host a Minecraft server.
I looked at that one Comcast blocking things before. But what else can it be? D:
I can't figure this out, please help guys. ): |

If you run your server application, and then run 'netstat -ao' at a command prompt, what do you see? There should be a number in the PID column corresponding to your application, and you should see the port as available. Beyond that, if you have a router, this would be a good time to check your logs. If the packets are reaching your router, they will be logged. You may even consider installing Wireshark and checking if any packets are getting through. It is very unlikely that Comcast is blocking ports as high as 25565. |
