Thank you sir for answering my question. I found an Actiontec GT724WGR for 75.00 and the reviews for it very positive. I am not rich but I do not mind spending 75.00 to replace a 5 year old modem. Plus having dealt with FairPoint support and finding them not very helpful I am going to give this option a chance. Thank you again for your help and information.
If you guys do purchase said Actiontec and get it working with Fairpoint please let me know what you did to configure it. I have a 724WGR and have had no luck to date (see my No ISP w/Actiontec gateway thread) with it.
