Southern California → Taxes done. Hope I don't get an IOU.

Well just finished e-filing my federal and state returns.

Feds are gonna eat the entire thing for back-taxes owed, and the state hopefully won't issue me an IOU for the refund I'm supposed to get.

Sure will come in handy.

Plus I just told my ex that I am reducing the child support amount I am paying to reflect her full time job and the fact I am on unemployment. She's threatened to take legal action and I told her to go right on ahead. Judge isn't going to throw me in jail for making good faith payments at the rate they already would be at if I filed for a change in circumstance.

waiting for the W2 from our Mutual friends. As soon as I get that (one check worth, I think I will just use that stub), then I will do mine. I should get just enough back for my wife to clean out a credit card bill.

didn't the IOU's earn 3.75% interest last time? I'd be more than happy to get that.

We already have one it's called alimony or paying for what you aren't getting anymore. Or in some marriages haven't gotten since their wedding night.

Hey, interesting note, According to TurboTax, the feds are not even looking at Itemized returns until Feb 14.

CA withheld a lot more of my income in 2010 than it did in 2009.

I did the federal standard deduction and the CA short form.

Both Fed and State returns have been "accepted" and I'm just waiting for the debit card to show up in the mail for my CA refund.

It was an option through TurboTax to get the refund applied to a Debit card. Supposed to save some time by not having to wait for a check to be cut.

I got the debit card yesterday, but it won't be filled with the state refund money for up to 30 days. Fed refunds are made within 8-14 days.

I am just going to have them drop it into my account.

I tried that first; but for some bizarre reason the B of A routing number I've used for years, which is the # on my checks, was refused as a routing number "not used for direct deposit by the bank". I know that's a load of crap because I've used it many times before - so I figure it was a glitch in the TurboTax system.

I filed January 21st! Got my federal on the 28th and California on the 31st. Pretty fast this year!

Debit card direct deposit hit today for my CA Refund.
