The only reason carriers can get away with limited data offerings is because stupid iPhone users will buy any polished turd that Lord Steve tells them to buy, no matter how crippled it is.
Had people stopped buying the iPhone once AT&T capped the data plans, then there would be no incentive for Verizon to consider capped plans which involve the iPhone.

reply to pnh102 It's wrong for you to blame stupid iPhone users... the tiered/metered AT&T data plans (they are NOT capped) apply to all AT&T smartphones (and soon will be to Verizon too).
