Basically, CBC and Bell formed a partnership t big on 2014 and 2016 olympics and 2 of their bids have been rejected as too low so far.
There are rumours that Yahoo might come in and bid for canadian rights and then distribute it via the internet in canada.
Should this happen, it would become a large push towards OTT distribution of sports and move conventional TV one step closer to legacy/oblivion. |

BCE 2011 Financials BCE's 2011 Q4/EoY financial report came out on Feb 9th, 2012, which was not what their website had stated would happen.
Earlier, BCE's investor page had stated that this would happen on March 15th.
Anyway, here's more on that :

For all the above: comments are due March 21. (as per CRTC letter of Mars 1)
The CNOC Part 1 (filed January 4h, but dated 5th by CRTC) final replies are now due Mars 23rd
Of the R&Vs whose dates have been confirmed by CRTC letters.
Videotron: comments due mars 28, reply on April 9 Rogers: comments due April 2, reply due April 12 Shaw: comments due Mars 26, reply on April 5
Other R&Vs whose dates have not been confirmed by CRTC:
Bell Canada filed March 1 (so would be due April 1/11) CNOC filed March 2 (so would be due April 2/12) MTS filed March 2 (so would be due April 2/12)
However, I have learned that "date submitted" is not when the 30 day timer for comments starts. CRTC starts it when it opens the file it seems.

Getting some news already:
»www.theglobeandmail.com/news/tec···2378470/ quote: The CRTC had issued a new pricing model in November that would see smaller ISPs, which lease space on the networks of larger providers like Bell Canada, pay for the total capacity they need rather than the volume of data downloaded.
That compromise decision, however, is now being appealed by CNOC and companies including BCE, Rogers and Quebecor Media Inc.
A CRTC spokesman confirmed Thursday that the consultation is separate from that appeals process. As a result, if the consultation results in changes to the disclosure of confidential costing information, those new rules would not apply to the current appeals process.
