| godaddy hosting ipv6 support The past day or so I finally took the steps to enable IPv6 for my 2 computers at home via he.net tunnels because ool does not yet support any real type of IPv6. Where I am hitting a brick wall tho is with my website that is hosted with godaddy.com . I got as far as giving it a IPv6 address from my pool of addresses from he.net in a dns AAAA record. I guess the question im asking is if godaddy supports IPv6 on its webserver and how I would go about setting up the reverse through them? I had tried google, and searching on godaddy and couldn't find a definitive answer, I would like to get my website set for IPv6 world day in dual stack IPv4 and IPv6. |

| reply to freakout9903 There are other reasons to switch hosting providers. IPv6 at this time is not one of them. Only the geeks and testers are really running IPv6 now. Plus a low level support at Godaddy probably has no clue when they will flip the switch for IPv6. Even Godaddy will flip it on when it is really time. Someone there knows about this I hope. Just not the low level support. |

| reply to freakout9903 ...IPv6 for my 2 computers at home via he.net tunnels... I got as far as giving it a IPv6 address from my pool of addresses from he.net... Stop right there. The address pool (i.e. "prefix") given to you via Hurricane Electric exists at your home (i.e. the end of that tunnel.) You cannot pluck one of those addresses and put it anywhere you like. For your GoDaddy hosted site to have an IPv6 address, GODADDY HAS TO GIVE IT ONE. |
|
 | Agreed with Cramer. If you want an IPv6 website with your HE address, you need to host it. |

 | reply to freakout9903 All I did was add an HE tunnel to my linode host, and now my site has IPv6 |

At that point, you might as well be doing the hosting yourself.
GD is just not my choice either, for a number of reasons, but chief among them is overcomplicating their access. I urge you to move on to someone else. -- English is a difficult enough language to interpret correctly when its rules are followed, let alone when a writer chooses not to follow those rules.
Jeopardy! replies and randomcaps REALLY suck! |

IPv6 is for geeks may have been true of the last decade. It certainly does not apply in this one. |

From godaddy "All of our data centers have redundant IPv6 transit from multiple providers now. This means we support IPV6 today, even though we haven't enabled it on our customer-facing servers yet."
Really??? Then get on the ball, I want my IPv6 hosting. Personally I like godaddy hosting, like the support. But I had to switch because they didnt support IPv6. |
