New Wave = Worst cable ISP I have ever dealt with v.2
Well, it is happening again. Overloaded peak hours every single night for the past few weeks. I hadn't noticed it until I was trying to stream some Netflix tonight and it was going VERY choppy and cutting out constantly. I checked my ping monitor (which I have never stopped running...) and sure as hell, my pings are total garbage. I looked back in my logs and it has been happening consistently during peak hours every night again for at least the last month. F*** Newwave Communications and their bush-league service. This is ridiculous.
Oh, and it gets even better. My 10Mb/s service that I pay out the ass for is currently speed testing at half of that. I think it is time to consider the DirecTV and Consolidate communications for internet switch again. Newwave, you fail at everything.
It continues. Attempting to watch some Netflix streaming today was grueling. It would have to adjust the quality every 10-15 minutes because of my choked bandwidth and garbage ping time. Thanks Newwave for being truly the worst.
Ever since last weeks Maintenance that they had at the Tayolrville headend things have not been the same. I'm in Carlinville and feeding off the Taylorville headend and I have seen Latency myself go to shit.. IDK New wave is going to do what it wants. I also know that during the maintenance I recieved a new IPv4 address, that when I went to do a speed test said I was in KY??? Personally If and when New wave moves to DOCSIS 3.0 it will only get worse. not to mention the fact when they finally get caught up to IPv6 addressing another mess for the consumer to deal with.
I would capture all the data you can and send it to 4jimshelp@newwavecom.com with a full complaint. This is the CEO's Customer care dept... Totally separate from the regular CS dept. I have used it myself.... wrote an email and within an hour someone from that dept was on the phone with me looking to get the issue I had resolved.
P.S When you go to speed test change to a Chicago Server... yeah I know screwy to be pinging a longer distance but for unknown reasons I get better results than pinging a St. Louis Server.
reply to GldRush98 Saturday night here and the internet has actually been surprisingly stable... Good pings all night and speed test is showing full speed. Maybe they got the issue fixed? Further monitoring will be required to confirm...
