UBB NoticeHey gang, We've been trying to get the notice out for the past two days. In fact we've been working around the clock since the CRTC decision came out. The biggest issue is that more than half of our customers are getting affected by this. So, we're looking at basically making changes to something like 30k~ish accounts. Roughly a third of those will have to be moved to a calendar month billing to match up with Bell's usage period. So, we're looking to get as much help as we can from our new customer portal and so for the first time we're sending out customized emails that will hopefully help people log in and use the portal. On top of it all we have new terms and conditions of services going out. We were originally anticipating that the CRTC decision would have come out near the end of the week and we would have put out the new terms mid-week. Having the decision come out on Tuesday basically then we didn't want to send out a separate email just for that. So, now, we have some legal stuff that needed to go into the UBB notice as well. So, we've done our very best to give everybody the best options we could think of. As you guys know we don't have much space to offer anything stellar there's no doubt that this is a kick in, the you know what. On our end it's basically changing the entire way we run our business. So, there are a few components being addressed in the notice. There's a message from Rocky, that's he's largely had done since Wednesday, there are new terms, there's a comprehensive FAQ explaining everything head to toe, there's a new customer portal that most of you already know about but now launching to all users. There's also an announcement for new stuff. In a nutshell this is a really big freaking deal for us all. EDIT: Given that the mass emails haven't gone out yet and that some info is out here are the versions of the notice that will go out later today. There are 4 different versions in total. 5Mbps, Lite, MLPPP and Granfathered. I just added the FAQ as well. French: A french version of all of this as well as an upgrade to the customer portal to also support french is slated to be completed on Monday. |

Are Unlimited accounts gonna be automatically downgraded to the price level of premium? |

Thank you for the notice. We'll look forward to the updates. This UBB non sense has become a bill to 'argue' over in our household because internet is looking to no longer be an affordable bill with the way we download. |

Good work, you guys are going to need a vacation after all this. |

Can we get a breakdown? |

Yeah, where is this new information available, I don't see any new portal on TSI's website, I haven't received any email and you still have the old pricing available according to www.teksavvy.com |

Five years without a single speed upgrade and when something changes it's this. Laughing stock of a country. |

I just logged into the portal. This is what's there.
No Insurance 40GB - $4.75/month * 80GB - $9.50/month * 120GB - $14.25/month * 275GB - $55.00/month * |

Also keep in mind....
You must set the same insurance for each service in the MLPPP Bundle. Due to UBB, usage for MLPPP is calculated and billed separately for each line. |

If thats the finalized insurance prices I'm looking at doubling my bill, haven't seen what the base service will cost yet.
Profile 3/800 Average usage 200GB
Current Plan: Unlimited + MLPPP = $49.66
UBB Plan: Base cost ($36.10) + MLPPP ($4.52) + 275GB Insurance ($62.15) = $102.77
Difference: $53.11
*Updated with UBB base price. |

Yikes $55 more based on my past usage history.. This is going to get mighty expensive for "up to" 5 Mbps (more like around 3 Mbps) |
|
|
If the base price is 30 bucks we're looking at close to 100 dollars for a base price + 275gb of insurance. Something like 62 euros.
Can you imagine what 62 euros buys you in Europe? we're talking about unlimited 100mb or 200mb plus phone and TV!!!!! |

The base price is the same as it is now.. $31.95.
It would put us out of business if we lowered it. sorry gang. |

I'm a little confused. I went by the FAQ page for Quebec and it tells me that there a 25GB/month cap. I thought it was 60GB/Month in Quebec?

When do the accounts automatically get switched?
On the portal I see, Generic DSL. I hope I still have my unlimited until March 1st since I already paid for it up until March. |

Thanks TSI for softening the blow as best you can. Now lets see what we can do with the CRTC etc. |

If you think I am going to pay $209 for two shitty 3mbit lines + insurance you people are nuts.
I already pay $99 a month for 6Mbit and now I gotta tack $110 to keep what I already have. No fucking way. |
|
|
Bye bye then. |
