Re: Politics aside, does any aspect of the Ryan plan make sense? This would only happen in a dream, but how about this: Privatize all Federal public-facing government agencies that do not function in a manner as mandated by the Constitution?
Eliminate/Privatize or leave to the State:
1. Dept of Education -> Leave to the State
2. Dept of Energy -> Eliminate
3. Dept of HHMS -> Leave to the State
4. Dept of Agriculture -> Eliminate
5. Dept of Labor -> Leave to the State
6. Dept of Homeland Security should be only at the state/local level
We can keep:
1. Dept of Justice
2. Merge Dept of Defense + Dept of VA
3. Merge Dept of Transportation + Dept of Commerce
5. Dept of State
6. Dept of Treasury |

| I have no trouble with that, but as you indicated, it would be a hard sell. I personally think my list is easier to implement (with a few noted exceptions), but if yours wins the prize I'm all in.  |
