Can I get a "routeable IP address with Virgin Mobile USB 760Hi, I am using a cradlepoint CTR500 w/ the VM USB 760 and it works great. The only issue I have is I need to access devices remotely and the 28.xxx.xxx.xxx IP address I get from VM will not allow me connect to the cradlepoint (or the pc when connected directly). My guess is VM/Sprint does not issue a routeable IP address but I was hoping someone here may know of a way around this. Thanks in advance Bill |

Re: Can I get a "routeable IP address with Virgin Mobile USVM has some sort of network translation so no you would never be able to connect using the IP address.
If you need that ability you would want to get the sprint branded product (or Millenicom).
I have tested this with simple servers (like vnc and web) and they are always lost in translation... there are ways around this limitation, however, they require some clever configurations of the service your offering. |

I believe you may open a port for listening after connecting to a remote VPN with a virtual network adapter. (see openvpn) |
