The box (pictured) was recently installed by China Telecom in my building. Is it FTTB?

The way the cabling is looped reminds me of fiber... What does the large metal box in the first pic say in the upper left?

This does appear to be fiber as the box in the first pic looks like a ONT (optical network terminal) looks like they have pulled the fiber through already. In the other pics it appears that they are deploying a passive network possibly.

From the photos, is there any way to gauge how far along they are to get it up and running?

Will be nice to swtich from cable to 10Mb/s FTTB for only 6$ more a month (10$ vs. 16$) unlimited access.
