Siemens Speedstream 4100 modem intermittent flashing LED

I'm looking for suggestions about this modem intermittently "locking up" in that overnight the unit stops responding with the "internet" LED flashing at about 2/second.

Wireless shows ready on a wireless device.

I can ping the Cisco E1000 wireless router at 192.168.1.1.

I'm unable to ping the modem at 192.168.0.1 when malfunctioning.

Power cycling it corrects the problem for several days but it always returns.

Since the router pings, my problem seems to be with the DSL modem or DSL connection to it.

The Power, Ethernet and DSL LEDs are solid green when the malfunction occurs and after a power on reboot...

Thanks

Could be a couple of things.

Start with making sure you have the latest Firmware.

»AT&T Midwest/Ameritech FAQ »Where can I get the 1.0.0.53 firmware update for the 4100?

Then if there is no change after that then contact your ISP for support:
