[Notebooks] What Laptops come with Win7 MS install DVD anymore

Just wondered if anybody makes laptops that come with real MS install media anymore.

I usually recommend HPs to friends and family but am getting sick of having to burn 5-6 recovery DVDs.

I always also (after setup) make TI images to an external drive. I would always do this anyway but would like to have an OS install DVD too.

Although increasingly rare, there are a few, mostly at the higher price points, which come with recovery dvds. Fewer still, if any come with an actual Microsoft Windows install disk anymore. At best, you get a factory-image disk.

Sad to say but good luck finding one with an actual OS install disk.

Yes some more expensive (especially corporate type) notebooks does come with (or can be ordered with) installation DVDs. For example my HP Elitebook came with Win7 x32 and x64 installation (not recovery) discs. They are out there, but it may not be worth the extra cost just to get the discs.

Can't you just go buy a copy of Win7 and use the license key on the bottom of the laptop?

Different versions (manufacturer OEM, retail, etc.) of Win7 doesn't accept the same keys. It's the same problem a lot of people have on notebook centric forums (they were trying a downloaded image).

Plus, if the OP goes out and buy a copy of Win7 why doesn't he just use that key?
