Re: Freedom does not dissapear overnight

Communally brewed ale would suck. As would almost all commodities and elective purchases.
Name 1 government project, policy that is run efficiently and truly is a benefit to society.
Like managing anything social (love life, neighborhood, workplace, city, country) there is no one answer: it's always a hybrid requiring constant, tedious, collaborative attention & tweaking. In the realm governing performed by multi-multi party reps balanced by pro, lifer policy wonks. Public needs transparency and reactive recourse but also kept at arms length. When simplistic ideologues of ANY stripe make too large an inroad everything goes to shit. Same as keeping mum, dad, and older sister at bay in the 15-24 age range. 15 'til mother's death if Jewish.
